Thank you for the watch
An ornament on my table
Suspended in ebony rectangle
It shines as a golden bar
Of music in the wilderness
Of my heart.
Did I imagine?
Its hands moved back
In a flashback
A succession of blurs
As in a failing memory
A face of meek innocence
Fuses into male dignity
And there is a fade-out,
An inner projector lost
Its magnetic pull
And reverie is gone.
Time flowed past me
My hopes deluded
My dreams belied
From my grip eluded
And gone far away
Across the seven seas
Every moment
Distance spreads out
Between love and memory
As with every tick of time
I feel a touch
Of the unknown
Far beyond time
Where shall I be?
You need not bother,
Anyway thank you
For the beautiful watch
