Faraway in the West

Faraway in the west
Now the sun shines.
And leaves the East and me
In a deep and dark sea
Of night.
Troubled by pain
Breakers on rocky shores
Knock on barred doors
Of infinite emptiness,
Till their mighty roar
Melts faraway
Like a sinking spirit
In a blind vigil trails
Its black path
On the chart of moments,
Till the sun smiles again
To illumine images of love
In Jacob's unseeing eyes,
And awakens new fragrance
In gardens of the East.
