Come! Let us hold our hands together!

Come! Let us hold our hands! together!
As an immense human chain,
Let us take the dear earth!
And all the creation
In our wide embrace
Of universal love.
Come! Let us take the lead!
To snuff out bush fires
Of fear and hate
Of want and hunger
Erupting into wars
And atomic holocausts.
Come! Let us free the earth!
From creeping shadows
Of 'green house' blight-
An outpour of hell
And omen of glacial deluge.
Come! Let us banish!
Those offending fumes
Those foul shafts
Rending nature's benign mantle,
Our invisible armour
In space.
Come! Let us then make!
Our earth into a haven
For all creatures
A modern Noah's ark,
Nay, a wide open park
Of flowers and peace
A new garden of Eden,
For angels to wonder
And the stars to see
